King of the Hammers 2023: A SXS Readiness Guide

It is that time of year again! Thousands of off-road enthusiasts are slowly beginning to migrate to Johnson Valley, California for the largest off-road event to hit the south west, King of the Hammers! This year specifically is going to be a big event with the addition of so many races to the schedule, from the leading names in the industry like Best In The Desert and Ultra4 Racing. 

Once you arrive to Hammertown, there are few resources available to get your ride ready to spectate, let alone race. In this situation, preparation is key. Tri-County Powersports wants to make sure you are ready to conquer Chocolate Thunder... or at leat the lake bed! With so many vehicles in one dry desert lake bed, the amount of dust at King of the Hammers is inconceivable causing poor air conditions and zero visability. Here are some MUST NEED items to get you through KOH 2023:

All Terrain Concepts X Pro Race Series Pods with Amber Flood Beams: Amber light reflects off dust particles less than clear beams do, eliminating most of the glare and increasing visability. Rugged Radios Air Pumper - This is a must for anyone spending any long period of time at KOH. The Air Pumper comes with either 2 or 4 hoses depending on which size you get, and connects directly to the helmets to pump clean filtered air in, and keep the dust out. 

Fox Goggles: Goggles are a must at KOH, even just for walking around Hammertown. The wind and dust can be brutal, make sure you aren't caught without your eye protection. Fox Goggles are made from high end scratch resistant material and reasonably priced.

With these few items, a little faith, and a lot of layers, you are ready for (almost) whatever King of the Hammers has to throw at you! Have fun, and we hope to see you all out there!
