BITD Cancels Parker Legends Weekend
On Tuesday, Best In The Desert announced the cancellation of the Parker 250 and Parker 425 Legends Week, that had originally been scheduled for January of next year.
No real reason was given to fans and racers as to why the entire event was canceled instead of rescheduled, there was only the vague mention of “circumstances that surfaced” without further explanation. At this time, we are told that both races are set to resume the following year, in 2024.
Moving quickly along, BITD announced that the World Hare & Hound Championship Event is being replaced by The Golden State 250, a new race which is going to include Car, Truck, Motorcycle, ATV and UTV classes. The new event is scheduled for February 17-19, 2023 and is rumored to take place in Cal City.
It appears that BITD is trying to quickly move forward with the race season. Co-Owner and CEO of BITD, Daryl Folks released the following statement, “Racers who have registered will have several options for their registration fees, including transferring fees to another race or races, or full refunds. We appreciate the support of the Best In The Desert racing community, and we look forward to seeing many of you at the new Golden State 250 event on February 17-19,2023.”
Fans and Racers are tentatively excited for this new event, and hopeful that everyone can get back out onto the track as soon as possible. Until then, the world of off-road racing is watching and interested to see what happens next!
